The Canadian Farm Builders Association (CFBA) reports that on Monday October 20th, Mr. Gary van Bolderen, a long-time director and past-president of the CFBA, was appointed to the first vice-chair position with the Council of Ontario Construction Associations (COCA).
Mr. van Bolderen has held prominent roles with the CFBA for 34 years. He is owner and President of Dutch Masters Construction Services Ltd., a firm that specializes in providing consulting, custom design, project management and construction services exclusively to the equestrian industry for the prior twenty five years.
Mr. van Bolderen has represented the Canadian Farm Builders Association (CFBA) on COCA’s Board of Directors for many years, and most recently held the position of second viceāchair with COCA.
“ Gary has been a significant driving force in assisting the CFBA to move forward over the years and has been a vital contributor in keeping important matters that arise within the industry, front and centre” stated CFBA President, Mark Cook. “ Gary is a leader who stands out. He is enthusiastic, honest, and passionate about his role with the CFBA and COCA. With his strong leadership skills, Gary is a firm advocate and solid mentor for those working in the construction industry. “
Cook added “Mr. van Bolderen has been a significant contributor to the CFBA over the years as the membership has increased. The CFBA very much appreciates Mr. van Bolderen’s contributions and is proud of his accomplishments. ”
Gary is a Charter CFBA Member and was on the CFBA’s first Board of Directors in the early 1980’s. He has been involved in the board or on a committee every year since then, including serving as the CFBA President for a number of terms. Gary has been honoured by the CFBA due to the significant contribution he has made, and his company ‘Dutch Masters’ has been a sponsor for most CFBA annual events since the 1980’s.
CFBA Vice President, Dan Reymer, expressed “ Gary has always been willing to participate and encourage others to become involved. He doesn’t hesitate to step up and motivates others to aim higher. We have benefitted from his leadership and guidance. He is a strong member of the CFBA and will be a significant contributor as first vice-chair for COCA. “
The Canadian Farm Builders Association represents over 200 members and works to promote and advance the construction and standards of farm buildings in Canada , representing the association in matters administered by governments and encouraging high quality work, fair dealings, and the exchange of information.
Mr. van Bolderen states “I am humbled by the opportunity provided by COCA, which is the recognised voice of construction at Queen’s Park, to represent the needs of construction as a whole, but also the unique needs of the farm building community. I appreciate the support of the CFBA Board of Directors and the membership, as I take on this new responsibility. “
Through the active participation of the CFBA core members, the CFBA has become the voice for farm building contractor members and the farm building industry in Ontario .
